My name is Johanna Harrell, and I’m an undergraduate at UC Berkeley pursuing degrees in Psychology, Legal Studies, and Educational Sciences. I currently serve as the Public Relations Director for the Mixed @ Berkeley Recruitment and Retention Center, where I lead outreach efforts, storytelling, and community engagement to uplift mixed-identifying students. I’m also in my third year with College Corps, having completed over 900 service hours supporting food justice, education, and youth mentorship initiatives. Grounded in equity and collective care, I’m passionate about leadership that strengthens communities, builds meaningful connections, and embraces change as a pathway for growth.
My ACC Leadership highlight was that we lead knowing we might not receive all the outcomes we hope for, but we often forget that leadership also shapes the present. Even if it’s not visible, the work we do now matters for our community, and that impact is just as important as any future reward.
